EFRA GP 2008 - LOSTALLO (CH)

The first EFRA GP F1 and Touring Cars in 2008 took place at the race track in Lostallo. According to the susccessful race series last year the EFRA GPs become more and more interesting and above all more popular. This year there were 150 entries for the race in Lostallo, but only 100 participants were allowed to take part according to the official rules, so at the end some drivers were very dis-appointed not to be able to enter.

Nevertheless it was a fantastic race and already on Thursday the drivers were busy driving. Track and weather offered a great atmosphere and soon the track showed a lot of grip.

Markus Feldmann dominated the Touring Cars right from the beginning,  together with Cedric Prevot. Both took part with the new FG EVO08 and set so the benchmark for all other drivers and teams. In the qualification Markus reached the pole position in front of Cedric,  both had a respectable distance to all the others. FG dominated the semi-final clearly, too. Markus set the speed and Cedric followed just behind.

In the final Markus forged ahead followed again by Cedric. Both had a clear distance to the other drivers and still Markus had a tenth second here and there so he was even able to distance himself from Cedric. After 5 minutes driving Cedric had a crash just overtaking the young Croatian driver Veseli which cost him  almost one round and a twisted suspension. Consequently he had to give up his hopes for the podium. Markus gained a superior start-finish victory in front of Michael Weiser and David Bowen.

In the Formula 1 race series Markus gained the pole position, too. But according to a crash in the semi-final he had to be satisfied with start position 3 in the final run. After little problems in the beginning Markus could start his race to catch up with the leading Gabor Cserkuti. 40 minutes later he was in reach to beat him and took his chance to take over the lead. Markus also won this race class for FG and therefore he is now number one in the ranking of the EC F1.
