This year the EC Formula 1 didn’t take place at the same time as the 1:5 Touring Car EC, therefore some of the top drivers were missing. Nevertheless over 40 drivers started in this competition. The FG Team represented most of the drivers. The weather was perfect and Friday went by with testing and practising. Then on Saturday the pre-runs began and the FG driver Markus Feldmann secured the pole position. As a direct qualifying isn’t possible anymore all drivers had to pass the semi-finals to qualify for the final run. In this process there were some unforeseeable drop outs among the top drivers as the racetrack in Mühlau is very winding and narrow which made an overtaking of other vehicles quite difficult. Finally 7 FGs, 2 Harm and 1 RS5 reached the final. Markus Feldmann won it unchallenged, followed by the other FG drivers Martin Bayer and Martin Lissau. The club made great efforts, organisation and catering were very good, and compared to the EC of the Touring Cars 2006 in Athens there were a lot of spectators present at this Championship.
