EC 2006 Touring Cars 1:5 - ATHENS/ GREECE

European Champion Mathieu Brière
at the award ceremony
Around 90 drivers took part at the EC 2006 in Athens. The racetrack was located a bit outside of Athens and was in a very good condition. Unfortunately only a few spectators found their way to this Championship. Almost half of the participants took part with an FG Competition although 10 model manufacturers were present. Already after the fist qualification runs one could recognize that some of the FG Team drivers would be among the first. In the end 6 FG Competition, 2 Harm, 1 RS5 and 1 Contrast were qualified for the final, where B. Arnaldi and M. Feldmann competed 28 minutes for the lead. Approx. 2 minutes before the end both vehicles came in direct contact and got caught, so finally M. Brière reached the finishing line first and won the race. Mathieu Brière joined the FG Team in the beginning of 2006, during the past years he reached the third place twice at European Championships.
