1:5 TOURING CARS EM 2008 - LUXEMBOURG
The main event in 2008 was the 1:5 TC European Championship which took place in Luxembourg from July 15th - 20th, 2008. Around 140 participants started up on this challenging track which demanded great skills. For this reason the free practise began already on Tuesday. In the beginning it still was quite slippery, but then the traction became better.

On Thursday there was a time practise and in the afternoon the first heat took place, all drivers were able to finish the run dry. Two further heats were held on Friday, then on Saturday the fourth and last heat took place. Although there were always dark clouds in the sky the weather kept dry for all pre-runs.

Noticeable is the fact that almost all participants this year drove Ellegi tires, same as FG team driver Markus Feldmann who was the only one to drive 30 rounds in the pre-runs.
On Saturday afternoon the final runs began which continued on Sunday. Sunday afternoon then it was clear which drivers would take part in the final. It couldn’t have been much better for FG. Seven FG EVO 08 in the final, one HARM, one X1 and one RS5.

According to the wet track the final was set back for half an hour, therefore the race finally started at 5 o’clock p.m. with the following drivers: M. Feldmann/ FG, B.A. Arnaldi/ FG, M. Mielke/ HARM, M. Lissau/ FG,
D. Bowen/ FG, C. Prevot/ FG, M. Bayer/ FG, J. Gonner/ FG , J. Schummer/ X1, M. Kiwitt/ RS5. Lissau and Arnaldi had to start from the pit lane according to an engine change.

Hundreds of viewers seamed the track (first time since many years), so it promised to become an exciting race. The race started, and first M. Mielke took over the lead, but soon after 10 rounds M. Feldmann was back in front. The distance to all other drivers remained and so M. Feldmann won the race invulnerably with one round in advance. Arnaldi drove now with an FG EVO 08 from the tenth to the second place. For FG this was a perfect double success. This EC 2008 again showed that the FG Team and Ellegi dominate the ECs, WCs as well as all other national and international races since many years.
