In the first week of August 2008 the 1. WORLD OPEN GP of the Formula class took place at Lostallo/ Switzerland. Most of the 1:5 international TC top drivers headed towards Lostallo with their models in order to compare their skills once more or maybe just to improve a not so good Touring Car result during the European Championship. Approx. 40 drivers started at this GP. Unfortunately not all FG Teamdrivers were present, therefore some FG models are missing on the results list.
According to the heats and the superqualifying Martin Bayer, Markus Feldmann, Martin Pater, Ales Bayer and Martin Mittelstädt were able to qualify their F1 Competition models directly for the semi-final or respectively the final. However A. Bayer had some problems right at the beginning and had to give up soon. M. Bayer, M. Pater and M. Mittelstädt reached the final without any problems.
This year the final required extremly high concentration and material as it went over 90 minutes. Markus Feldmann reached the finishing line after 90 minutes as 1st World Champion according to a faultless run and a perfect pit strategy. FG driver Martin Bayer had to give up after a crash, but M. Pater reached a great 7th place.
